EducationIncoming freshman Biology/Pre-medicine major and Military Science minor at Texas Tech University, with no current university GPA
ExperienceI myself have taken the initiative to study the science of biology in order to help others understand it's use full potential in regards to real world applications, and in terms of tutoring experience, I have help my friends throughout high school numerous amounts of times
succeed on various tests throughout grades 9th, and then through 11th and 12th.
I have scored a 90 out of 100 on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and have also scored a 1730 on the SAT.
My interest in being a tutor stems from the fact that I see great potential in all students, and with this, I wish to see to it that I can help all those that I come across to the best of my ability reach that potential.
Some of the relevant classes I have taken include various International Baccalaureate (IB) classes I have taken throughout grades 11th-12th, during my attempt to obtain the International Baccalaureate diploma. Some of those classes that would be most beneficial in terms of tutoring your child include:
Two years of Higher level IB Biology,
Two years of Higher level IB English,
Two years of Higher level IB History,
and One year of Standard level IB Psychology among many others. These classes that I have taken can be viewed as being most beneficial due to the fact that I had made very high grades in those classes (with the lowest grade being a high "B", and the highest grade being a high "A")
Other interesting points of mention:
-I graduated high school within the top 26th percentile from a very competitive class of 1209 students
-I received PTSA Citizen Award for displaying helpfulness and a good attitude towards others
-I received a certificate of Achievement for enrollment in the Full IB diploma program
-I was recognized for Outstanding achievement by my school and was awarded a document to signify that.
-I have volunteered with various organizations since i have been in middle school, including the city library, the American heart association, and mostly with the AT&T based group Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement (APCA)
HobbiesMy hobbies include volunteering with APCA with my father, socializing with others and trying to understand them truly so I can help them in the best way that I can when the time arises. I also enjoy practicing the martial art of Muay Thai whenever the time permits, and reading great works of science fiction.
