Private tutor in Lubbock, TX
Education
I am a Lubbock native. I attended Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio where I received my bachelors in Chemistry and History, 3.51/4.00 (May 2011). I attended UT Austin to receive my PhD in Chemistry, 3.23/4.00 (May 2017). I am also a native Spanish speaker who took courses in Spanish during college that focused on building a more literary expression.
Experience
My experience includes working as a TA assistant for organic chemistry, general chemistry, and respective labs. I also participated in research-focused instructional labs to help students develop their chemistry research skills. This coupled with traditional instruction helped students to learn and grow. I enjoy working with students who need a little extra help and to see them flourish in subject matter that they saw as difficult. A little extra attention and instruction goes a long way! As a native speaker in Spanish, I am able to teach the formal rules and conversational aspects of learning a new language. This provides a distinct advantage in becoming more comfortable and adept at learning a different language.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading histories of various kinds. My favorites relate to the American West, but also includes quirky histories. For example, histories that focus on how certain commodities, or unexpected social norms helped shape large events in history. I also love to spend time with family and friends and have fun and meaningful conversations.
