Education

I graduated from Defiance College in May 2016 with a BS in Molecular Biology and minor in Chemistry. As the recipient of the Pilgrim Award for the most outstanding senior, I also graduated magna cum laude and was awarded Most Outstanding Senior in Science. During my undergraduate career I traveled to Tanzania, Africa four times to complete undergraduate community-based research on vital sign implementation within elder groups and preliminary water testing for determination of a sustainable water filtration system. I was a 4 year varsity athlete and All-American academic for the Softball team, graduating with HCAC All-Sportsmanship team accolades. Currently I am attending Texas Tech for a MS in Environmental Toxicology and serving as a Research Assistant within the Biological Threat Research Lab.

Experience

I have a strong history in routine and test-prep tutoring, focusing on individual study strategies and tips to a more exciting outlook on these challenging subjects. I have worked with students as young as 2nd grade, all the way through college and served as a Teaching Assistant for Principals of Biology I and II for 3 years during my undergraduate career. With younger students I have designed and implemented summer reading comprehension plans, assisted in after school homework completion, and have experience in all subjects, focusing mainly in reading, math, and science. Having completed my BS in Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry, I have excelled through collegiate courses including, but not limited to Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular, Pathogenic Microbiology, Animal Nutrition, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, and Honors Anatomy. I truly believe having a strong grasp on the foundational material will make all the difference throughout schooling. From study strategies and test preparation techniques, all the way to implementation, I am here to help!

Hobbies

Having just completed my last collegiate athletic season, I still enjoy staying active and involved in athletics. To keep in the game fo softball I continue to umpire and have recently completed by second National Tournament. I enjoy the outdoors, love animals, and one of the things I miss most about home is working on the farm. After obtaining my MS, I plan to attend veterinary school and pursue a career within the realm of zoonotic disease and public health.
